      Leaving Sky questions

Thinking about going from Sky to Plusnet.

      1. Do Sky charge a termination fee? Plusnet say they do not need any codes to move broadband over. The last time we were told this we were charged from Eclipse to Sky.

      2. I am in contract with the phone until June but paid up so I assume that this is all I need to lose?

Advice given is in good faith and if taken is done so at your own risk. If in doubt consult a qualified person.

      1. Do Sky charge a termination fee?
No. No ISP does, the charge is sometimes made by BT who pass it on to the ISP, who in turn passes it on to the user. The charge should only ever be applied when you are stopping using DSL for broadband. It is to cover the cost of an engineer travelling to the exchange to make the disconnection. If you are moving to another ISP using DSL there should be no charge as the cost of the engineer is covered by the new ISP. Your charge by Eclipse should have been refunded.

      2. I am in contract with the phone until June but paid up so I assume that this is all I need to lose?
If you are not under contract for broadband, that is all you will have to pay.
