      One of the best ways to show this would be to have speed tests at a variety of times (i.e. on the hours every hour, or there abouts).
      The best way to do this is to download and run Jack Dinns auto speed tester. This will record the speed at intervals you set and provide a GUI to display them.

      Many thanks for advise re stats, very helpful.

      I have done a couple of more tests via Skyuser checker today at 3:30pm D/load 3.30 Mb/s U/load 0.62 Mb/s and at 7:37pm D/load 2.34Mb/s U/load 0.595 Mb/s.

      Appears to be consistent with busy times so looks like our exchange is a bit full.

      Nothing like the router stats.

      I've taken a few SpeedTest readings this evening (between 18:00 and 22:15) and the speed seems to vary between 7.0 and 8.9 Mb/s down which is only slightly slower than my usual reading before the problems began.

      I will take a few more reading over the next few days to see whether the problem returns.

      Looks like I spoke too soon! My download speed is down to 3.17 Mb/s now.

      I've just installed this application. My anti-virus lit up like a Christmas tree showing it as a "potentially unwanted application", but after reading the explanation for this on their web site, I disabled the warning for this app and allowed it to run.

      I have done a couple of tests using the Skyuser speed tester and found that at 11:40am yesterday the d/load speed was 6.55Mb/s and upload speed was 0.659Mb/s at 10:30 today similar speeds but at 2:30pm d/load 6.31 Mb/s and upload 0.627 Mb/s all tested using ethernet connection.

      My Broadband has been playing up for the past week

      Normal speed 3mb

      Now varies between 3mb,1.6mb and 0.8mb

      Exchange is Colindale Exchange code: LWCOL

      Is that your actual download speeds? On exchanges suffering from throughput problems, the sync speed will remain the same, the actual thoughput will reduce, especially at peak times. eg., If you are syncing at say 4.5Mbps constantly and your download speed varies between .8 and 3Mbps at peak times, then that is probably exchange output congestion.

      Im syncing at 3417 but my actual download speed is anything between 0.5mb unto 3mb It can and does change at ANY moment
