Just like to add I also have had my router dropping out on the said firmware. It's been going on now for the last few weeks. Around 6 in the evening and after midnight. Normally not on my Xbox when it happens but when it does, very annoying. I've either been watching Netflix or gaming on multiplayer and losing xp

What's my best option? How do I install an earlier firmware?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
I have now downloaded this version FAST2504N_5.27.1a4N_mrmt32_v1.1.w. I think it was available through a link further back in this thread.

Upload using a cable (not wireless) through the upgrade router firmware page.

Once done reboot and if successful like me the router will be solid. Current stats show up for over 5 days.

Nothing from SKY still so good luck.

Call Sky and get a new router. THEIR firmware broke YOUR router so demand a free replacement or get them to talk you through a firmware rollback.

The instructions are here: Download the Sky router recovery tool | Sky Help

There is also a new telephone number.

As for demanding a replacement, could I suggest not being so harsh on the phone? Sky has announced a new Beta group and is inviting people to apply. It is specifically for owners of Sagem routers on an ADSL connection. This should address the issues and I am glad that this has been done.

and also remember this issue isn't effecting everyone so it's not a common issue.

I've been using 6.14.2a4N_UNI for several weeks now and I have a rock-solid connection here (been connected 515hrs so far)

In case anyone is interested, please do consider joining the new beta group which is specifically for those with the Sagem router:

Sky Help Forum - Calling All Sagem Router Owners! - Help & Support from the Official Sky Forum

I am hoping that it will give you all a chance to help develop the next version and debug it correctly before it is released like previously.

You only have until the end of the 26th Match (this Tuesday) to apply.

Re: Firmware 6.14.2a4N_UNI causing ADSL drop outs?

Been so busy with work commitments, not been able to reply sooner. My router has dropped out twice since my last post, which isn't too bad. If I roll back to an earlier firmware, will it not automatically update anyway over time? Thanks

Yes it will automatically update. However this version is no longer being rolled out.

Sky have instead asked for volunteers to join a new Beta group for developing and testing the next version before it is rolled out. The closing date has now passed.

Re: Firmware 6.14.2a4N_UNI causing ADSL drop outs?

Well I just tried the sky recovery tool which said it was successful but still showed the same fw. Then tried the custom firmware and got to the screen to enter ssid, code and mac but it did nothing. Then tried the sages recovery tool on the cd and now the router is useless. Can't even get to 192.168.0.1. Tried 192.168.1.1 and both just return page not found. Oh well, looks like its bin bound unless anyone has any ideas.

Okay, all is well again. Warning, do not try this using Google Chrome as it won't accept your router details. Firefox did the trick!!

Re: Firmware 6.14.2a4N_UNI causing ADSL drop outs?

I had no problems with my sky broadband whatsoever until 3 months ago when I started losing my connection regularly. This started happening every 20-30 minutes and despite the router displaying all green lights and being able to connect to the router from all devices in my house, I was unable to establish any internet connection. Resetting the router would work for another few minutes before I lost the connection again. I have spent several painful hours on the phone to sky over the last week taking me through all the basic connection problems, changing microfilters, using the phone test socket and changing channels on the router etc. all to no avail. I was sure it was a problem with my router but because it is out of warranty Sky wanted me to fork out 70 for a new router. The only other option they gave me was to send an engineer out at a cost of 165 but I was pretty confident that this was not a problem with my line. Fortunately I found this forum thread. I used the router recovery tool to downgrade my firmware from 6.14.2a4N_UNI to the old firmware 5.27.1a4N and surprise surprise, I have had a perfectly stable connection with not a single dropout for the last 48h. I am really annoyed that despite Sky being made aware of this firmware issue, they have not done anything to rectify it nor have they instructed anyone on their broadband helpline to tell us to try downgrading the firmware, instead recommending expensive options such as an engineer or a new router.
