      Netgear DGND3700 Modem Set Up

I'm having major trouble setting up my Netgear router.

I'm currently attempting to set up a new router due to my Sky's poor signal strength. However after reading many forums I still cannot get it to connect to the Internet.

My network type I'm currently using is MER. And I am aware there has been issues with this before.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Re: Netgear DGND3700 Modem Set Up

If your network is MER only, there is not much you can do to connect a Netgear router. Netgear are not interested in making their routers usable with MER, even after several requests. The only manufacturer who has done this is Billion.

Your only option is to piggyback the router as explained in this thread. There is a chance your line will be swapped back to PPPoA, many have, but it is not something you can request. - How to connect two Routers together

      Thanks Isitme,

I've had a couple of attempts at that and it still doesn't appear to be working.

Would it just be the Netgear Router I'm having trouble with? As I may buy a different one if it'll work.

All I ask for is a better signal.

Re: Netgear DGND3700 Modem Set Up

As the DGND3700 has an Ethernet WAN port you can also connect it as shown in Tom's guide:

      Using the DLink DIR613.

This would mean that your Sky router would end up working as if it were a modem and the DGND3700 a cable router.
