      Intermittent internet light

I have had problems for 4 weeks now with intermittent internet light coming on, more often it is off, or sometimes is Amber.
I have a black Netgear router and have also borrowed another netgear router, but same issues exist with the internet light.

I had checked all the ADSL filters and have reset the routers several times.

I have already had line tested by Sky and they say it is working ok

Has anyone had similar issue, before I call Sky again?

Could you post you router's connection stats please?

How to get your Sky Router statistics

      (Please include the 'up times')

Also can you describe how your router is connected to the telephone socket. If you can include details of any extensions, BT Junction boxes and any other connections in the line in your home and outside, before the line leaves your home (some people have boxes outside).

Finally could you perform what is known as a 'quiet line test' please. To do this, using a corded phone, dial '1' and listen carefully for any noise. If you hear any faint hiss or a high pitched noise, similar to a fax machine, then that is fine. Let use know what you can hear (loud hissing, clicking or anything else).

If you hear a noise like this it probably means your filter is not performing properly. Try another.

True, but at least it isn't a possible line fault.

Admittedly it is always a good idea to replace old filters.
