      Sagem Router - connection lost, won't reboot?

      Hi,

      My connection suddenly dropped earlier tonight, and upon checking the router lights, it seemed to be going through a cycle of an orange light and then two greens above - as if it was trying to re-establish the connection.

      It was doing this for a while, so I switched off and reset the modem, but it's now stuck with the top four lights on green, the 'tick' light on green and no connection between the laptop and router, never mind the internet. So wireless and cable connection to the router doesn't work either.

      Any ideas?

      I would be inclined to call Sky as it sounds like either your Internet connect is faulty or more likely that the router has failed.

      The Sagem 2504 will be out of warranty. You may like to consider seeing what kind of deal you can get for the Sky Hub SR101.

      usual reason for this to happen is power supply for sagem routers , usually power spike or cut in power unplug psu from power leave for 1 hour then try again , if still same and router out of warranty ask if for replacement psu

      If you have a suitable PSU for another device, 12v centre positive, minimum .75a output, try that.

      Hi folks, yes you were right - power supply issue. Unplugging as suggested by tenar hinted strongly as the router failed to power up immediately when reconnected. Currently back online using a borrowed power supply (sorry mam!) and Sky are sending out a new one.
