Well I had problems from when I got back from holiday last Saturday until today. Before that I was getting around 5000-5500kbs. Tonight I'm getting 6300kbs.

not really, its just that people are reporting better speeds on connect and now you are reporting better speeds on mid, so it looks like the busy beavers have been busy this week

      Don't count your chickens!

I thought Sky had sorted out my connection on Tuesday. A big jump in performance from about 0.7Mbps to 6.5 Mbps for most of the day. Then on Wednesday I was back to square one....and I'm still there tonight.

Happy to confirm I seem to have a stable and reliable service after nearly 4 weeks of outages. Speed results average between 4 - 6meg, when I was on only 2meg for 17.99 before with Plusnet.

According to one of the checks linked to here, my exchange has further issues due for re-work on the 19th of the month (not long) so I hope to see speed increase a little more to the current capacity of 8.

Still can't believe I now seem to have "always on" access.

Just to re-cap..... I have changed the settings on the Netgear router with regard to uPNP and the 108. Stood it upright, to decipate the heat better (runs a lot cooler). Angled the aerial 45 degrees away from the wall (as advised by technical) and also removed the faceplate of the master socket, thus pluging in the socket underneath. (All of this other advice has been found linked to by the moderators or in sticky's on the forum here).

Certainly seems like they are getting on top of the situation. Why on earth did they not offer the service first to a few selected areas of perhaps existing SKY subscribers ? - before having most of the country it would seem - overload the infrastructure.

I'll stick with them now, but they certainly have a BIG public relations battle in convincing those who have already cancelled, back to them.

      Ian.
