Moved to SVBN and lost speed.

Up until this time last week I was connecting quite happily at 8480 download and 796 upload. No dropouts, no problems. I received a letter from Sky telling me that on the 26th September I would be moved onto their new network. It changed over first thing last Wednesday morning. However I am now getting much less speed. The checker tells me that line testing is not taking place. I was also expecting to be connected via MER as I was on the SVBN, but it is still showing as PPPoA?
Is it worth ringing Sky and asking them to increase my speed? These are my new stats...

I would, that is way down.

As for the MER and PPPoA it looks like Sky are swapping people back to PPPoA so I wouldn't be too bothered about that.

Re: Moved to SVBN and lost speed.

Are they setting the noise margin lower now than they used to? I've also gained a dB from somewhere on my line attenuation as it was always 44dB before. I'll give them a ring tomorrow and see what they say. They were quite impressed with my knowledge of noise margins, etc last time I rang. I didn't let them know I learned everything from here!

Re: Moved to SVBN and lost speed.

The new DLM process can lower the noise margin. Not sure if that would change the attenuation though.

Re: Moved to SVBN and lost speed.

Perhaps I can edge a tiny bit more speed from my extra dB!
