      Anyone still waiting for a BAND number? Ring them!

      I registered with Sky when they first announced the free BB service, via their website. I heard nothing and registered again (via the site) two weeks ago.

      After reading the tips on this forum I actually rang Sky yesterday and got through within seconds (!).

      Today (!) I received my BAND number, via email. I rang and again got through straight away. The first guy I spoke to was a complete idiot - he couldn't even find my existing Sky account. He then started to input my info as a 'new account' at a speed of one key-press every 2 seconds, s-l-o-w-l-y... In the end I snapped and put the phone down on him.

      I rang again and spoke to a lady who could not have been more helpful, polite and professional - my delivery is anticipated in around 10 days.

      I appreciate it's early days but I have to say that so far (with the obvious exception of numb-nuts above) I've been impressed with their service.

      Fingers crossed - further update to follow :-)

      So.... it had to happen, I suppose

      Received a letter from Sky this morning, asking that I ring Provisioning asap as there is a "problem with my order".

      Sky state that the order was rejected by BT who did a 'Product Compatibility Test' on my line, which failed. Sky then cancelled my whole order!

      I've now put the order back in place again - whilst on the phone the guy from Sky supposedly tested my line (just like the lady did when I placed my original order..) and no fault or issues were identified.

      So, back to square one. A "10 day" wait for my router and activation date letter. Ho hum.
