Equipment fails like any others over time. They may well have seen a failure and decided to upgrade the whole line card. Whatever has happened has improved it.

DLM runs 24/7 and will start a profile optimisation period if it sees fit. The DLM platform was upgraded earlier in the year and Sky were re-running DLM on lines that would benefit from the improved platform - looks like yours was one of them.

Router and the DSLAM - If they are both Broadcom, then they are more compatible so to speak in layman's terms.

Re: Strange increase in speed sync

I am not using sky's router. Not done so except for first day and when a firmware update was imminent.

I use a Billion Bipac 7800N with the latest firmware, ready for fibre when it is available at my exchange.

The Billion has been in use about 2 months.

The speed increase is more recent.

^^ That uses a Broadcom chipset, so the theory still stands.

Re: Strange increase in speed sync

      Probably the reason then.

They must have upgraded / replaced something.

Not complaining obviously, just curious as it was unexpected.

Makes up slightly for fibre at my exchange being put back from June to September!

Re: Strange increase in speed sync

They have probably swapped something out of our exchange, my connection has been absolute pants the last 24 hours or so.
