Constant Connection Drops
Hey guys,
I hope I am posting this in the right place.
Basically for the past month or so Ive had horrible connection drops. It keeps on disconnecting (the 'I' turning off, then blinking orange then blinking green/yellow). It seems to be very random, but everyday without fail it drops at around 12pm every 10 mins or so for about an hour. Then for the rest of the day there are random drops (irregular time periods) although it seems to be fine at night/early morning.
I called Sky up and they said, I have to call a telephone engineer. Therefore I am making this thread to hopefully fix the problem myself.
At the moment, I have a filtered faceplate, I tried putting back the old faceplate with a microfilter but that did not help.
I also left it for about 24 hours in the test socket and it seemed fine but not sure.
My phone seems to be working fine and it doesnt have connection drops.
Here is some background information:
I have the 'old' white Netgear router connected to the master socket via a filtered faceplate (its been in this current setup for over a year and have had no problems till recently..)
I have two extension sockets being used, one for my telephone and one for my sky box (both connected with micro filters)
Here are the current statistics:

Please let me know if you require any more information.
Please help me!!
Thank you

Re: Constant Connection Drops
the double dial tone just means you have a message on the 1571 service

Re: Constant Connection Drops
Ahh, that makes sense. Listened to the messages and the tone is back to normal

Re: Constant Connection Drops
Your upload speed is very low too. It is possible the router is failing so you should try another router, if you have one.
Have you checked that both sockets are dead when the master faceplate is removed?I have two extension sockets being used, one for my telephone and one for my sky box (both connected with micro filters)

Re: Constant Connection Drops
I would also second what IsItMe has said.
If you can try another router, it doesn't have to be a sky one.
What you're looking for is the internet light on the router to stay a solid colour (may not be amber/green depending on router). As long as the internet light stays solid, the router is holding connection, this proves the router is at fault.
You mentioned though that it seemed OK in the test socket but you can't be sure, you need to be sure as it could well be your faceplate that's failing (although it seems you've tried 2).
