      Re: slow broadband

Is your noise margin fluctuating between 5+ and 17db. If it is, does the noise change at any particular time?

      Re: slow broadband

yes it'll be about 4-6db for a few hours then will be 17-20db.

the times it does it seem to be random.

the upstream snr is allways around 16db.

ive tried the plugging the adsl modem into the test socket using a micro filter instead of the pre-filtered faceplate but there was no change.

      Re: slow broadband

leave router in test socket for at least 24 hours and try noting when changes occur aslo check if if changes have when something else happens like phone calls made or received , possible random noise being generated on the line whats your telephone quality like check for noise there

      Re: slow broadband

Do you have a Sky HD box plugged into the phone and is it properly filtered? If you do, try unplugging it for at least 24 hours and see if there is any change.

Try just the phone and internet plugged in to the test socket.

      Re: slow broadband

If you manage to stop the SNR going up and down your line will achieve about 5mbps if you ask sky to manually configure your line.
