      good cos theres def something wrong with the line imho, theres a weird whistling sort of sound plus when your talking sometimes the other persons voice goes faint for a second.

      has noise disappoint if not call back if ok then keep a close watch on snr

      well after changing modems and cables etc plus watching the snr margin and bit loading on router stats im convinced that the problem is caused by rein, whenever my snr drops from 18db ish to 8 dbs ish during the day theres a loud buzzing noise on the radio when tuned to 612khz.

      This confirms that there is some interference somewhere.

      If the radio is portable I would suggest that you make plans to move around when the speed drops and the noise is present to find the source. Once you have an idea what is causing the problem you can look at resolving this issue.

      the noise was a red herring, it was caused by my plasma tv. i replaced it with a lcd one but its made no difference to the line. all sky want to do is run dlm every time i phone up as though that will fix the line

      Thanks for getting back on this.

      How did you isolate it to the TV and have you had someone look at it to see if it is faulty?

      well the plasma tv hasnt been in the house since i sold it and bought an lcd one 3 weeks ago. the snr margin goes up and down the same as before. the plasma tv was causing interferance on the radio but doesnt seem to be the cause of the broadband problem.

      I would ask to be passed up the line to CST and politely refuse to deal with the first level of support.

      They may ask you to go through the usual crib sheet. Be nice and explain that this has been performed on many occasions and refuse to allow anyone to rerun DLM again.

      Hopefully someone with more knowledge will then be able to get the network team involved.
