maybe someone here could shed some light
hi, great forum been a good read for past week with some great tips

a slight bit of background first.
2 months ago i moved from talk talk to sky following a falling out over talk talk wanting to sent a internet engineer instead of a BT guy out to fix a fault on the line. any ways i moved to sky reported the fault and BT came out and fixed the issue. (changed line underground from pole to cabinet, previous engineer replaced house to pole line) this fixed all issues with line and the end of my trouble some year with talk talk...
now due to BT coming out and new isp the new connection failed the 10 day cycled and i was still on 2mb/ cap, following contact with sky the cap was removed and told to wait 10 days for the connection to settle.
10 days passed and connection was at 6900-7200
not bad really, 2 mb to 7mb... however here is the problem.
before line issues, i was connecting with talk talk at 19000/kbs stable line for over 8 months.
my line stats
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream Connection Speed 7302 kbps 822 kbps Line Attenuation 26.0 dB 7.2 dB Noise Margin 6.4 dB 6.7 dB
the cabinet is just over the road, and i'm within 1000 meters of exchange. the estimated speed i got in writing was 12-19mb/sec
when i run other tests online ::. Kitz - ADSL line and exchange checker .::

Re: maybe someone here could shed some light
Sure you're not on the up to 8mbps product?

Re: maybe someone here could shed some light
with such low snr line will not go about these reading as your line length suggests should be higher would do all internal checks and check telephone line for noise ,something not quite right

Re: maybe someone here could shed some light
all internal checks have been done, connection to master socket doesn't improve things either. we did manage to get 9mb/sec using profile at 3.0db
our last theory mine and sky tech support, was maybe the faceplate filter was splitting the connection. i've removed the filter, 3 days ago and no change in line stats which confused sky tech he expected to see some change in stats to reflect different filters etc
no bellwire, last bt guy removed it.
nothing else connected
i've had everything in house turned off to see if it was maybe electrical devices interfering

Re: maybe someone here could shed some light
It looks like you still have a fault on your line. The attenuation looks high for a sub 1K line. Getting something done about it may be difficult if there is no noise on your voice line.
