That's fine. Just checking something that I saw somewhere else.

With regards to your current stats, you have a high Line Attenuation. This show us that either you have lots of aluminium cable or that your telephone line takes a long route to get to your home. Sadly you are never going to get a really fast connection like that.

You say that you have changed the telephone socket in the past. Did they install an NTE5 socket?

Reading through the thread we've already gone through the use of the short ADSL lead, rather a telephone extension lead. All too often extensions contribute to poor performance.

Could I suggest another call to Sky and ask them to put you on "G.DMT" which is ADSL, rather than ADSL2+ please.

In many cases this can actually improve the connection speed.

My best suggestion for the longer term is for you to consider upgrading to SFU. Your telephone exchange has been upgraded to support FTTC and you would likely get a far better connection speed. Use the Sky website to check what you can get. Navigate to the 'My Sky' page and follow the links to upgrade

"add more to my package" --> "add Sky broadband and talk" --> "Speed and availability check"

If you are interested in SFUP then you will need to telephone Sky as currently this can't be ordered from the website.

The BTO Engineer will have fun when you finally get SFU or SFUP ordered.

Sadly it is a waiting game to see when BTO will install a Fibre cabinet near your existing Green Street Cabinet.

      Re: poor speeds and dropouts

I thought we had established that the main problem was interference from your TV.
      From above
-ok just done a mini test of stuff off and on, its the tv thats interfering with the noisewhen on standby the down stream jumps up 6db-10db with the upstream hanging around 13db
Until you solve that you will not really get anywhere.

I think you have been unlucky enough to get an airhead, they have moved you from G,DMT to ADSL2+ which does not suit your line at all. Call them back and ask them to move you back to G,DMT which you were on before. You should get a better speed, both up and down.
