Yep, those screen shot were from a Netgear DGND3700 and WNDR3800 respectively.

If you are considering beefing up your network you could look into either as an option. do read the threads on using non-Sky routers first and the comments on this forum regarding the DGND3700 and the Netgear forums for both.

Of course there are other routers, but I'm not familiar with Billion, for example, to know if they have a Network Meter. Please feel free to research this too.

      It sure is unlimited.

Im doing usenet 24/7 at 5mpbs capped and no one cares

You might think that's not alot but I can do about 40GB a day. okay so on 100MB I could do that in an hour but no point if the ISP then blocks you.

still no reset on wan time. 66 hours since last reset. dlm 10 days is tomorrow.

looks like 14mb is what dlm has chosen, sky said 17 is my maximum.

I would suggest that a friendly phone call is in order for tomorrow then.

You are below the threshold for an FTTC connection (15mb is the minimum). You should give Sky and opportunity to resolve this. If they can't within 3 months of the connection going live, you can cancel without any penalties.

      hi aaronjunited

in all fairness, dlm has probably finished but 72 hours on the wan up time is the only way to know for sure.

when i first switched to sky unlimited, the tech lady said that my 'max attainable' speed was 23 meg.
despite that, i actually feel very lucky to be living so close to my local phone exchange that i have these stats:

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
      Connection Speed 19999*kbps 1164*kbps
      Line Attenuation 23.0*dB 14.4*dB
      Noise Margin 6.5*dB 9.2*dB

      ^that's 20 meg on a 23db line (quite rare, i think)
yours is 14 meg on a 30.5db line (considered standard, i think)

      you're looking good.
enjoy the only truly unlimited, non-traffic managed / shaped, throttled connection in the uk.

Ok shall ring later this morning. What should I be asking them to do?

Also this FTTC thing? How should I go about mentioning this to them?

I plan to play some online gaming also, so should i ask for gamer profile?

      Thanks Scubbie.

      Thanks Scubbie.
I think Scubbie has been tired and not noticed you are on ADSL, not Fibre.

Your line is probably set to a delay of 8, which is in effect Sky's gaming profile. What is your Ping time to bbc.co.uk?
