What is meant by 'cable' router?

Possibly it means a router connected by cable. Anyway, I have read several posts about connecting another (cable) router to a Sky Router to extend range and wifi coverage.

I have just been upgraded to Sky Unlimited Fibre BB and supplied with a F@st 2504N router. I still have the 2304N router previous used for ADSL broadband.

Can I use the 2304N as a 'cable' router connected to the Sky 2504N router.

Incidentally I have found the 2504N wifi range to be no better than the poor wifi performance of the 2304N. The very pleasant BTO chap said he installs fibre connections for several different ISPs such as TalkTalk, Orange, Vodafone etc. He is currently with Virgin but only till his contract expires when he will be transfering to BT. He said that the BT Homehub3 has the best wifi of the lot and has experienced 'four bars' at range of 200 metres!

      Any answers will be appreciated.

      Thanks

A "cable router" is a router used with Virgin i.e. not ADSL as it hase no moden in the device.

You can use a cable router on ADSL but you would need a seperate modem to connect it to the internet.
