Promising, but this may be "as the crow flies" distance. Actual line length and quality are key factors.

I'm 901 meters (crows) but I get around 7Mb (Sync 8064) now this could be the length as I've tested the test socket and I've change my master faceplate and It's still 8064.

apparantly the maximum distance is about 3.5Km from the exchange, of course its likely to be less as when they say ah 8Mbps you never get a download at 8Mbps do you?

700 meters as the crow flies is good, it means your close, probably no more than a mile as the wire goes 900 meters is about half a mile, but you say thats as the crow flies, you should be fine mate dont worry about the distance, you can usually tell alot about the distance from the exchange buy what speeds your getting now.. for example

I am on a BT 2 Mb service now I know i can get 2 Mb to this location, so therefore I am in range of the exchange.

hope this calms you down a bit and relaxes you
