Slow Connection for more then a month! hi,
ive tried calling customer service many times but my problem never gets solved. my area currently has 8MB max connection and out of that i am currently getting around 1-3mbps speed. my router is theF@ST2304 sagemcom and my previous netgear router use to give me 5-6 megs or more.
my router is located in my room in the attic and i tried the test and everything with sky and there was not any fault. i gave up calling them as i could not get this issue solved. most of the times it will run at 0.78 to 1mbps even when the connection is completely clear.
i don't know if its my router or the area i live in. I tried contacting for fibre but its not even available in my area.
this speed test is probally the fastest i got for a week now.

please help! could this be something from there end or mine?

Have a look here for getting the stats, the above isn't exactly what we need:

Re: Slow Connection for more then a month!
You are getting far less than you are able to
ADSL2+ Speed Test
We estimate your line is capable of between 16mb to 24mb broadband on an ADSL2+ service. This ADSL2 Line Speed Calculator is a best guess only, as to the broadband speed that maybe possible on your telephone line. The checker provides results of up to 24mb with the data that is made available to us. This is purely for indication only and should not be classed as the Line Speed that you would receive on any ADSL or LLU product from another ISP.
I would get the stats again from the test socket and also try removing the ringwire if you feel competent.

Re: Slow Connection for more then a month!
I think you are probably plugged into a poor extension which is reducing your speed considerably. You must plug ito the Test socket and post your stats from there. If you do not have a Test socket, remove everything you have plugged into the phone circuit, including Sky boxes, plug in a filter into the master socket and plug your router into that using only the ADSL cable supplied by Sky.
Apart from the poor sync speed there is something else wrong with your connection to the router, you should be getting 6mbps+. Either you have a very poor wireless connection or something on your PC is gobbling up your speed.

Re: Slow Connection for more then a month!
are you sure you're on bb unlimited & not bb connect?
you said in your first post 'my area currently has 8MB max connection'
scratch that, my mistake.
upstream is limited to 448kbps on connect.
