Smile Homeplug for TV, Blu-ray and Sky Anytime+. Help

      Newbie needs help.

I have two BT vision power-line homeplugs (one connected to the router and one to the sky+ hd box) for Sky Anytime+.

I want to connect my TV (Panasonic G20) and my bluray player (Sony) to internet as well. Do I need to get two more homeplugs or is there any other alternative, like a splitter or a switch, to fit in three Ethernet cables from the existing homeplug (i.e. one for the TV, one for Sky box and one for blur-ray).

Additional homeplugs will be futile as I do not have more mains to plug it into.

      Any advice would be appreciated.

      Thanks

You need a Network Switch. Good news is they are cheap! Take a look at eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace . You will see it offers 5 ports and so has ample room for your devices.

I use this exact one myself for exactly the same reasons you want one!

Connect the Network Switch to the Homeplug near your TV then connect the TV, Sky box etc to the other Ethernet outputs of the switch. No configuration needed, it just works.

      Quote:

The Pluscom 5-port 10/100Mbps Switch is designed for SOHO (Small Office/Home Office) or workgroup users. The 5-port 10/100Mbps Switch lets you instantly add as many as five computers, workstations, printers, and switches or any other Ethernet devices to your Ethernet network in seconds. Connect this 5-port Desktop Switch to a router and add up to five additional computers or other Ethernet-based devices such as a printer, Network-Attached Storage (NAS), or Internet camera to increase the functionality of your network. The 5-port 10/100Mbps Switch offers simple Plug & Play installation with no configuration needed and works with virtually any operating system.

I have one of these: NEWLink 5 Port 10/100 Ethernet Switch,Black: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories
Would suit your set up too, just plug it into your homeplug and then everything else into it!

edit: damn - beaten to it!

If you are short of power points, something like this may be a better option.-
      3 port 200mbps Homeplug AV just 29.95

      or

Solwise HomePlug AV 3 ethernet ports - NET-PL-200AV-3PE

As others have said a simple Network switch like the ones posted will work fine. You can even daisy chain multiple switches if you ever get more devices. I have a similar setup to yours but I have the following all connected to a switch with is connected to the powerline adapter.

      Blu Ray Player
      TV
      Apple TV
      Xbox
      Sky+ Box
      Onlive Micro Console
