      Angry Horrific speeds late evening

      Hi all,

      I'm fed up of speaking to sky about this, 6 support calls all saying they will ring be back after escalating this case only to hear nothing back. When I phone up i'm told its closed.

      I'm that close to terminating the contract as it stands at the moment!

      In the evening, late evening its imposable for me to stream radio, skype, bbci or 4od. I end up with insufficient bandwidth errors. I'm on the full unlimited package and this.

      The router stats are as follows:

      This is pretty constant of what I get on a speed test late at night



      I have tried different routers, cables, i'm plugged in to the test socket, different filters and there is nothing else connected to the line bar the ADSL router. During the day I can see throughput on 18mbps on the DL tests.

      I'm fed up of this and because my router stats show a good sync speed 1st line support do nothing at all.

      HELP ME! (please)

      Sounds like a congestion issue at your exchange, no doubt the mods will have a look into it for you...

      Not the Mods here as it's an unofficial forum

      To the OP, are you using WiFi btw? If so, try it with Ethernet. If it improves then you're looking at a signal issue

      Wired Cat 6 connection to the router, no wifi being used and have tried different PC and another laptop. I have even run new cable which imop was a pretty pointless waste of time due to the nature of the issue.
      Im positive its not an issue with my equipment, where do I go from here?

      Although a few routes are still hitting only 3mb

      Looks like a traffic congestion / routing issue! At least things are looking much better this morning!

      Hi Adam,

      I do believe that's the case although its a very strange traffic patten as I would expect to see this occurring around 5pm and its much later. what can I tell them, they keep saying I should expect traffic and there is nothing they can do about it, but congestion to this level is rendering the service useless.

      Well that's a nice old lead time, be nice if some one had told me there was an issue :P 7th call to support this morning, the poor bloke had be changing wireless channels twice. I tried to stop him telling him I was connected via ethernet but he kept saying *ok* with pauses. The bloke was clearly struggling and I saw no need to upset him but wow. Sky if your reading this employ people who have the first clue about any of this *broadband stuff* and get some basic training for your first tier support, there getting shot to bits.

      He told me this was incorrect and there was no issue at the exchange, then lowered my sync rate at the exchange
