      Deterioration of Broadband Speeds

      Hello everyone,

Over the last two weeks or so, I have been experiencing some rather awful speed deterioration using Sky broadband. Now, I've had problems with the broadband in the past (a lot of cutting out, standard Sky issues) but they seem to have been fixed now (fingers crossed).

However, now I seem to be getting a deterioration of download speeds over time when the router is up and running. Whilst the router seems to suggest it's getting a downstream connection speed of 13977 kbps, and it generally is up in that area on first booting, over time this drops. A recent speed test gave a downstream connection speed of just 357 kbps, with the upstream staying pretty consistent. This is alleviated by rebooting the router, but generally falls like a stone again a few hours later.

Any ideas what might be causing this?

      Thanks

Are BTO installing Fibre near you?

If so, please see my response to someone else here: http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/search/result-115990/

If not, could you post your router's stats please?
