      F@ST2504n running @ 54mbps

Ive just joined sky broadband and received the F@ST2504n router and i believe it is running @ 54mbps when connected to my desktop as it says 54mbps when i click on view status.
      I am using a TP-Link TL-WN821N Wireless N USB Adaptor.

The only other devices connected to the router are my sky+ box(ethernet) and iphone4. I have download the latest driver for the USB adaptor and rebooted the computer. Mode is set to auto btw.

Your adapter is more than capable of getting the full 144mbps speed from the router. Unfortunately whoever did it made a mess of the firmware for the wireless speeds and missed out the N option. Try changing it from Auto to the next highest setting.

      Re: F@ST2504n running @ 54mbps

      Hello...

Right, so just got Sky / Infinity internet, wired speeds are circa 70mb.

Wireless speeds are about 10down, 9 Up...

Sky router is pants, have tried all the options under 'mode' - 54g Auto, 54g performance etc, to no avail.

I have a TP link 300mbps wireless n adapter with good signal so:

Is there an easy way to get the 70mb speed with my current setup (as suggested) or is it new router / firmware upgrade time...?

The 'n' in the f@st2504n router name suggests that there is...

      Any help gratefully received..

Well I have the same / similar issue as the original subject, and I am asking for an expansion on that answer, rather than a whole new thread, for the same issue?!

Did you actually get past the 'hello'?!

You should be able to connect to the router at 144mbps. The only thing I can think of which would prevent this is if you are not using WPA security with AES encryption. Wireless N will default to G if you are not using at least this security level.
