Soon to be with Sky Broadband

      Hi All,

Just today decided to move to Sky from BT as we're going to make a substantial cost saving which is always good.

Was just wondering what the router Sky supply is like, is the Sagem standard issue or have some people ended up with a Netgear? I know a friend who has the Sagem and doesn't seem to have any problems with it - not too sure how the WiFi Signal is though but then I'm not overly worried about that.

      Thanks

The router being supplied currently is the Sagemcom 2504N. A wireless N standard router which most seem to be pleased with.

Thanks, quite a lot of devices I have are connected via Ethernet anyway, hopefully the move from BT will go smoothly

Just a quick question, friend who recently moved from Orange to Sky had to provide a MAC Code. I assume I'll have to do the same and enter it online? Not a problem as BT gave me the code over the phone.

I just moved from O2 to Sky and I had to provide a MAC code. It appeared on My Sky on the order tracker and I just entered it there. All went smoothly and the phone is being transferred next Tuesday.

Thanks - Am I right in thinking you can only start using the Broadband once the Talk service has been activated (As in Sky taking control of the line)?

That's ok. Hope it goes as smoothly for you as it has for me so far. Router received within 4 days of ordering and no real downtime (I was at work when it happened), although I think it must have been mid changeover when I tried to connect because although I had a connection I wasn't yet connected to Sky! Over excitement I guess! DLM is now running and I'm waiting with much anticipation as to the speed I'll end up on!

Just had a check and I've put the MAC code in, got a phone line activation date for 9th March. Will be looking forward to the money saving compared to BT!
