      Latency increase switching to SKY

my SKY Broadband has gone live just before...

my latency with o2 was 27-29ms
now it is 47-49ms with SKY

is it likely that this will get better over the 10 day DLM..? I wouldnt have thought so to be honest...

Oh and Scubbie... the wireless-N (auto) is still same 55db as my Netgear GT on Wireless-G, as it detects G network devices it must drop into G mode and therefore unable to take advantage of Wireless-N extended reach.

other than the latency everything seems to be OK so far, Line Attenuation is same or dropped 0.5db

Iam on MER network (can you get this on EasyNet Dslams or not? as it appears iam not on SVBN)

      thanks

If you're on MER then you're on the SVBN

Not always the case. Before he switched to Sky line rental - still with BT at that time - my friend's D-Link was connecting on MER , not PPoA.

but my phone line is not on SVBN.. apparantley anyway.. cos I get BT Line Test on 17070 but on 150 I get SKY - according to online tracker the phone went live yesterday and I was still online with o2 LLu - which apparantley is "impossible" if your phone is moved onto SVBN, was with o2 right up until bb switch today

OK, your broadband is on SVBN, I think your phone will follow very shortly if it hasn't already done so,

i will keep eye on it Tom, i will know as 17070 will give the sky advisor and not the line test yes? - however, if i were on BT still wouldnt 150 not give me SKY (as it does>?)

I also thought it was impossible to get one supplied while with old provider with the other when on SVBN? (all or nothing)

      thnx

      Hi

On moving to Sky Unlimited the ping started of at 43ms with 3.2mb down and 0.50mb up .

Now after 7 days of DLM the ping is 25ms with 12mb down and 0.91mb up.

thanks mike555 - music to my ears...yeehaw!!! im wondering if i can get gamers profile with 25db Line Attenuation?

also, is it simple enough to get fixed speed restrictions lifted when you call up?
