      Thankyou to everyone who has helped,

      My speed hasnt increased but sky have set the Max sync rate on my line to 7mb now, and since installing an ADSL filter face plate on the master socket the noise margin looks alot more stable. There is the odd spike where it drops -3db then goes back to a steady 13db.

      I am still syncing at 5019 which is a tad annoying so i might have to get onto sky again.

      If they have set it at 7Mb, if you resync when your noise margin is above 7 db, your speed should go up. If it doesn't you are still capped.

      @itsme,

      When you say noise margin above 7db does that mean higher is better as mine has been quite steady at 13db.

      Thanks again

      7 db is the default, anything above this you can look on as potential speed. It is not possible to say how much each db is worth, but with 13 db you should get another 2-3Mb.
