@ scubbie - that code you have..where is that from (that shows you the max your line could do)..?

as I said earlier I have seen 26,000k and almost 27,000k syncs on ADSL2+ on an Australian DSL website (fastest is 26,924k)
      http://whirlpool.net.au/wiki/DSLAM_speeds

I didnt think such sync speeds where possible?

can't wait to get up & running

Check out the thread on the DGND3700, on pages 6-8 it discusses how to enable Telnet on the Netgear routers.

The personnel at Sky will have systems available to show them what the line is capable of, but the figures that I posted earlier are direct from my router.

Mine syncs higher than 19999. But still my speedtest figures are lower than Scubbies..

Re: Should I use my Netgear GT or SKY Sagemcom for first 10 days?

When I run the tests on my connection, I tend to run two or three on a single server, then change servers. At the end of the session I have a better picture of what my line is capable of.

Later in the day, and on a few other days in the same week, repeat the tests on multiple servers.

I have one or two with a lower ping, but the majority are around the same value as I have in my signature. There are more with higher ping values though.

The majority of the speeds are in the range of what I have in my signature.

Finally I picked a good representative result.

You are correct, they are not. The maximum theoretical speed of ADSL2+ is 24 megabits per second. I suspect the routers that are reporting speeds higher than that are mis-reporting.
