Marky speeds will vary from site to site so you will never see what you want but if you try this
      ftp://ftp.mirror.ac.uk/edunfs/mirror...4-bootonly.iso

      25MB file

It should give you a far better idea of your true speed

Some Advice.. Its always advisable to inform your old ISP as soon as you have migrated that you have moved.

A more accurate test would be an ftp download, try this:FTP download

here is one with an higher speed.
can anyone explain these very high speeds. they do drop rather quickly but i have had files finishing with speeds of over 1000kbs. and the other night i tunes wouldnt rerach more than 54kbs its strange especialy on an exchange that shows 2mb max

Are there patterns to the speed drops? I mean are they occuring at specific times? Some members have had slowdowns at peak times for example.

i dont get these speeds all the times. but a lot of times i get downloads kicking in at high speeds.
      what im puzzled about is
my exchange says 2mb line max. im on connect 8mb max. yet i get downloads kicking in at over 20.000 kbs a sec. that would be what ?? a 20mb line.
why it happens i dont know, but it shows that the lines are capable of delivering it..
