Hey guys, low speeds. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey guys, I have been with Sky the past 6 months and have only now decided to kick up a fuss about the poor download speeds.

These are my stats and my postcode is CF838BT

      System Up Time: 74:40:11
Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collisions Tx B/s Rx B/s Up Time
      WAN MER 6382 4404743 0 2540658 2147483647 0:13:24
      LAN Down 0 0 0 0 0 74:40:11
      WLAN Up 4580094 2965206 0 1200391700 402127337 74:39:52
      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 2307 kbps 796 kbps
Line Attenuation 51.0 dB 29.1 dB
Noise Margin 4.0 dB 12.6 dB

If someone could clarify if this is normal or not that would be great.
      Thanks

Please do as we ask all those asking for speed help and plug into your Test socket using only the ADSL cable supplied by Sky.
How to test your ADSL in the Master Test Socket

If you don't have an NTE5 socket, plug the router only into the Master socket and remove everything else that is plugged into the phone circuit.

Note - When downloading always select the Custom install or you will end up with stuff you don't want.

This test was done as you said plugged with only the sky ADSL directly into the test socket.
      Thanks

Then it looks like you have a very poor or faulty external line. Can you do a quiet line test by plugging a corded phone into the Test socket and dialling one digit. You should hear nothing but a very faint hiss, anything more should be reported to your phone provider as a noisy voice line. If there is noise getting this fixed should improve your broadband.
