      Exclamation Solutions for Tech?

My wife had a phone call from a guy at a company called "Solutions For Tech" today, he said Sky had contacted them regarding our slow broadband speed and he was talking her through various actions on our pc, he eventually said our pc needed a service and directed her to a website called "Solutions for Tech", he then tried to get her to download a programme from the site, thank goodness she had the brains to say "No!", he then hung up the phone.
I just wondered if anyone knew anything about this, was it a hoax?

It was indeed a hoax, probably a phishing scam

I'd report this to Sky but well done for posting on here

This is another scam company whose main aim is to plant malicious software on your PC then demand a sum to remove it. Its bad news if they are targetting Sky users as many are not computer literate and are liable to believe that it is an official call.
