      That could well be because the BTO Engineer is paid by BT Retail to install a filtered faceplate when you have BT Vision installed.

      There have been a few examples of Sky customers having a filtered faceplate fitted when they have had a line repaired, but generally that is all.

      As for everyone having a Sky STB, there are well over 10 million Sky customers now, so that leaves another few million who don't have Sky.

      Finally got it sorted after contacting the exec team, it seems that it was incredibly simple. somebody at sky had changed something on my customer profile and that had led to my download speed being cut down to virtually nothing. this could easily and shouldve been easily resolved upon my first complaint good job the exec team know to look for the simple, obvious things first, unlike the regular customer service dept.
