Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Help with connection stats?

I've moved your post so that the connection speed can be discussed here, rather than the Connect Thread and tidied the figures so that we can read them:

      Speed 3200 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation 46.0 dB 24.5 dB
Noise Margin 12.1 dB 18.0 dB

There is some room for improvement. I can't remember just now if it is applicable to the Connect package, but for the Unlimited & Home Lite products, the target noise margin is 7dB.

Take a look at the link below to see if there is anything which could help you to improve the connection at home:

::. Kitz - Improve your adsl connection speed .::

Please post up what you've been able to or not do and the stats afterwards.

Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps
Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Help with connection stats?

BT runs off different SNR profiles, similar to Sky, but the BT system has to be manually adjusted to have it lowered. BRAS profiles are change automatically but Sky would have to contact BT to lower the SNR profile and then - once done - would have to wait on the system to adjust the speed assuming the new connection speed is stable

It would be good to go to the BT Speedtest site ( Test Result ) and post the full result.
