Using An Old Sky Router Until New One Arrives?

      Hi,

My activation date for my Sky Broadband is today. However I have not received my router from Sky. I have spoken to them and they are sending another one which will take 3-5 days. In the meantime my sister has a sky router (6 months old) which she does not use anymore. Will it work if I use it in my house?

      Thanks in advance

Assuming it's not blocked by Sky it should work fine

Also has your sister extracted the details from it so that she can use her own router? If this is the case it could cause problems for either of you.

Re: Using An Old Sky Router Until New One Arrives?

That's exactly the situation I was in when I joined Sky, had to wait 8 days after activation before I received my Sky router 0 at the second attempt. In the meantime I borrowed my son's spare with no problems at all.

I actually extracted the username/password from that to use my existing Netgear DGN2000. Once my Dlink arrived I got my username etc & used my details.

I complained to Sky that I'd had 8 days without internet because of the delay & got some credit to my account.
