    Broadband speed dropped..

      Broadband speed dropped..

      Hi,
      I been with BT line rental for years and years to long to remember anyway on 20th Dec 2011 I changed to Sky Line rental all went great but noticed over Christmas my speed dropped from 6.5meg been at this for 2 years to 4meg on Sky Line rental..

      Now I have phoned Sky told them about the big drop in speed been told basicly tuff nothing can be done. I am not happy about this so does anyone know if there someone at Sky I can ask to talk to..

      Any help be grateful..

      You need to post your router stats as speedtests don't really mean much.

      No I wasn't. With speed tests the results can vary wildly depending on such factors as time of day , network volume etc.

      What is important is to see your connection stats to see if there's a problem there. Far more meaningful than speed test results.

      You can't say it's nothing to do with your router as you don't know what your connection stats are like. Post them up as requested and we'll advise you where the issue is

      I am almost embarassed to publish my results:

      Download: circa 2mbps (if I'm lucky), Upload 0.3mbps and a ping of 135!!!!

      And that is only 4 mile from the centre of Leeds.

      (saying that I do enjoy 78mbps and 71mbps at work seeing as I'm connected to the University Janet network)
