      Connection issues

      Hi there,

Around a week ago I had a perfectly working connection, around 1mbps download speed and low pings around 25 in games and perfectly clear video and voice streaming via skype and google talk.

I now have frequent connection drops which can sometimes last for 30-90 minutes until it syncs again. I have pings of around 60-120 ms in games now and a lot of static on voice and video communications. I have tried several computers and laptops all with the same issues so have concluded that it is either the router or the line.

I've used both the master socket, tested by removing the face plate and the line has a little static on calls but nothing too bad and via an extension lead and still have the same issues. I have used the tool to monitor channel usage and altered to many channels with no luck also.

Here is the information from the router. Thanks for any assistance.

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 11262 kbps 796 kbps
      Line Attenuation 31.5db 19.0db
      Noise Margin 8.6db 8.4db

      Re: Connection issues

You tried it connected to the test socket with NO extension cable in use? Post up your stats with just a filter and the short grey dsl cable Sky provided to the router.

      Re: Connection issues

      Hi there,

Yes I have tried it wireless and wired including the Ethernet cable provided by Sky with several brand new Sky filters and in the main socket without the extension. I'll post the stats when I get the chance too later.

You are referring to the same as above yes?

      Edit

      When plugged into main socket.

This is the only thing that sticks out. Any noise on the line can effect your broadband badly. Get on to your Phone provider and get it fixed.

      Re: Connection issues

      Hi there,

Thanks for the reply - shall I call Sky support as the entire thing is from Sky and explain about the static? I did one of the tests with the phone in the master test socket and had static and reported it.

      Re: Connection issues

      Hey Xanth,

I am having the same issues for the last 3-5 days. My connection worked perfectly and just recently started to disconnect and connect in every 2-5 minutes. I do not know what is the problem.

Anyone can help with the issue?
