      Slow speed - last hope!

      Hi guys,

      I have been with sky for nearly 3 months now and getting about 800kbps (i was sold between 2.5 - 7mb!).

      Anyway, to cut a long story short, I have had 7 BT engineers out to try and fix this issue, they included telephone and broadband engineers! It has now been esculated within BT, a long shot, but does anyone have any advice for me! The only thing I havent changed is my router. If this isnt sorted in a few weeks im going to have to break contract :-(

      My stats are as follows...

      i have been in the same boat as you for the last 11 months iv had 6 bt openroeach out i was sold 8mb and can online get 4 meg its 11 months into the contract and i have now been given the option to cancel as they cant tell me the problem if i was you i would just cancel and go with virgin

      11 months is a long time to put up with BT engineers turning up at your door every other week! Couldnt you have got out after 3 mate?

      nope was bever given the option altho when put tho to cancelations yesterday i said its to late to cancel now iv only got 1 mth left on my contract , the lady on the end of the phone asked what i would like . bieng cheeky i asked for sky multiroom . and got offered a standered box free 60 setup but only 2.50 pm OR sky+ free and free install for 10.25 pm i took that and getting install on monday just abuse sky tech 99% have no idea about the industry they work in and will hang up or try and fob you off . do a bit of reserch and dont back down (btw skyuser has proved invaluable to me over the past 11 months ) thank you all

      To say 99% of the tech staff have no idea and hang up is bordering on false accusations. True, some don't have a lot of training but the majority are good at their job but are bound by procedure.

      Personally I think you should have a word with the Sky CST team. They may be able to have BT replace the cable that goes from the cabinet to your house. I can't remember exactly what this process is but I can remember speaking to a customer who had similar issues and in the end BT had to replace all cables from the house to the cabinet which in the end resolved the customers issues.       Getting BT to replace the entire cable is not something Sky does easily as it costs a fortune! I can't remember it happening at all in the 2 years I worked in CST

      I know its not easy but I don't think Sky or BT have a choice in this case! I personally had an issue like this a weeks ago in which I spoke with CST and they were going to arrange this. Around 2 weeks later this had ben done and customers issue was resolved!
