      sky netgear dg834gt - issues

      Hello

I have had the router approaching 5 years now.

The other day i was using the internet fine and then went out for the evening on return the internet connection light was not lighting up.

Ever since i can connect to the network but have no internet connection, am i right in thinking the router is at fault?

I have phoned sky done all the troubleshooting and am now waiting on the 2nd line people to look into it (and still waiting)

I ask as i am tempted to just buy a router myself and configure to save waiting for sky to decide wether to replace the current one.

      Thanks

Has your firmware been updated. Old version is V1.03.87.

If it has been updated, there is a good chance that it has knackered the router.

You might get it working by resetting the router. Push a pin in the hole below the power plug and hold it there for 10 secs or until the front lights flash. If you have a lot of personal settings, back up these first so you can return them easily.

I have tried the reset and the problem persists.

The firmware of the router is as you say above V1.03.87.

Just wanted to say, I purchased a new router and had the internet working straight away.

So the router was the problem.

Sky will no doubt take a week to decide that before sending a replacement, but in the meantime i have internet.
