It looks like you're stuck on the 16 meg profile. Ask them to put you on the 20 meg one.

Hi, that's what she said, I told her I had never seen over 14mb on tests and she said that was because online checkers were not accurate, I could not be bothered arguing as she was a bit of a know it all

Anyhoo, not had time till today, switched off modem for 10 mins and seems uploads are up by 300k, maybe she did something after all?!?

It looks like you are capped at 16384, if they remove the cap you should get another 1-2 Mb.

It is important to remember that Sky quote sync speeds, not actual download speed although they may imply that it is. The actual download speed will be 10-15% less than the sync speed due to overheads, mainly data that is exchanged which is not registered. I don't think some of Sky help understand the difference between sync speed and download speed and fob you off with 'the tester is not accurate' as they don't know any better.

With your present sync speed you should expect 13.9 to 14.7 Mbps, so you are within the expected rate.

Cheers folks, it went up a fair bit so can't complain, the service they provide is great and trouble free, has been for a few years
