      ADSL faceplate

My connection has slowly degraded over a few months from 3.7mb to around 1.9mb. Today I decided to remove the face plate and plug directly into the test socket and the speed went back up to 3.7. So looks like the face plate is past it's best. I know we bought it with a recommendation from this forum but I can't remember where from lol
Can anyone recommend a good one please?
      Thanks

      Re: ADSL faceplate

How long since you installed it? It might be worth doing a little survey to see who has which faceplate and how long they have lasted.

I've got an ADSL v1.0 faceplate which has severed me well since I installed it.
It' around a year old and is still working well.

I bought two at the time. A friend has the other faceplate and it is working well, although that was installed in December.

Thanks for the info guys much appreciated. Mine was an ADSL Nation (not sure of version) and it was about 4 years old, so it's done pretty well

      Re: ADSL faceplate

Nice to hear that it did last that long.

I normally state that standard microfilters will last around 2 years before they need to be changed.

Whilst the electronics in a filtered faceplate are superior, I am not surprised that they don't last forever.

We sell the NTE2000 & also the NTE2005. The XTE fails due to the transistor based design, the BT design does not employ transistors. (we also sell the XTE2005 clone if you wanted the same again).
