      Thumbs down I think I have the slowest connection on SKY

      Hi All,

      I thought I would drop you guys a thread on my pain of SKY Connect.

      Our line has never been fast but this is the slowest I have ever seen.

      I phone Sky support 2 weeks ago and waiting for a fix they seem to think running speedtester.bt.com every time I call will fix the issue I have.

      My gut says is an routing issue at the exchange but no-one at sky has a clue.

      my Netgear v1 stats are;

      My first question is to confirm that you are on the Eastbourne telephone exchange.

      If this is the case then I would strongly suggest that you call Sky back and ask nicely why you are on the Connect package and not on Sky Broadband Unlimited.

      The Eastbourne exchange has Sky's equipment and unless you want to pay 10 per month extra, you should be on it.

      If you can get on to the Sky kit, then you should be able to get nearly double your current connection speed.

      There can be reasons for this, for example with such a large number of residential customers it might be full. In which case Sky will provide Connect to any additional customers.

      Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps
      Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms

      There are several posts claiming much lower speeds than that on Connect. It is probably the worst package you could get. Have a look here for some info.
