      the saga is over.
      It will be when the noise margin comes down and your speed rises.

      If the line really is fixed your speed should rise to 6+Mb. If it does not drop out itself, reboot your router once a day for the next few days. You should find that your noise margin comes down and your speed goes up. If it doesn't you will have to contact them to reset your line manually, but things are looking up.

      You think it would really go that fast? To be honest right now speed is the last of my worries, as long as it stays on for now I am happy! Now to get my money back from Sky for the last 3 months. I can't believe it has taken 7 engineers for one to finally get the ladders out and go up the pole, which I did mention even before the 1st engineer had come out.
      Current uptime now 1 hour 15. Real test will come later on at peak time though when it was always worse.

      i did say id be insisting he went up the pole,

      im going to keep this in mind when open reach come tommrow, as if they cant find a fault im going to ask if theres a spare line on the pole.

      in your case there is a fault on the wring from exchange to the pole, or pole to your house.

      Just got in from work, had 22 drops whilst I was out, not sure if this is the new line settling down? Speed has now dropped right down from the 5 it was at earlier.

      I doubt if it is 'settling in', the fact that your speed has dropped and the noise margin has gone extra high probably means your line still has problems. It is not over yet I'm afraid.

      Just had a nice stable 4 hours and it has just dropped again. Really thought this was the end of it. Looks like engineer number 8 next week then.

      I left router stats lite running last night and checked this morning at 6:30am and had about 7 drops over night. Now I am on a completely new line from my pole to the exchange why the hell is it still doing the same thing? The only thing left is the lift and shift in the exchange, which I was again told by the BT man yesterday is extrememly hard to get authorised as he has to see the equipment in the exchange dropping the connection to confirm that is the problem.
