      A Reasonable Sync Speed?

We had Sky broadband installed about six weeks ago, so it seems like all the initial speed changes have evened out, but the sync speed looks a bit lower than I'd expect - nothing major, but it's 16380 kbps down with 18.5 dB attenuation and a 7 dB noise margin. Is it worth trying to get them to squeeze a little bit extra from the line, or should I just stick with what I've got?

They won't be able to do anything. You may want to consider if there is scope for improving your internal wiring. If you have more then 1 sockets then getting a filtered faceplate might help squeezing a little more.

It might be worth checking what kit you are on. To do so go to CMD -> type 'tracert bbc.co.uk' and copy paste the results.

7db noise is skys target so i dont think you will be able to get anymore out of your line, you could maybe do the standard checks:
      • check test socket
      • change filters
      • etc

and see if you can achive anymore, or if your extentions are holding you back, however dont get your hopes up as you are at skys target and are doing better than others (me for an example)

      FTTC Connection: download:40,000. upload:10,000. 5ms ping
      ADSL Speed:
      Connection Speed 18013 kbps 1087 kbps 16db 7db attenuation7db 7db noise
      Download: 15351 Kbit/s
      Upload : 957 kbit/s
      Connects : 2891 conn/min Ping: 19 ms
