You can ask Sky to move you to G.DMT and hopefully you should be able to manage a better sync. Your lines comes quite a long way from the exchange so don't get your hopes up too high.

You may want to consider Virgin broadband or FTTC if these are available to you.

      Re: BB Help

You are some distance from the telephone exchange.

As Exdee has suggested, the only way that you will get vastly better speeds is if you went to Virgin or you wait until FTTC is installed next March. Hopefully you will have a cabinet installed near where you are.

However if you are where I think you are, then you are on the Fareham exchange. If this is the case then FTTC or FTTP aren't yet scheduled for your exchange.

      Re: BB Help

Thx for replys peeps, im in a block of flats in Gosport and i can only get Virgin through the phone line, so id imagine its about the same speeds, as these flats were not built when cable was laid.

      Re: BB Help

Blocks of flats are notoriously poor when it comes to broadband speeds. Some members are really close to their telephone exchange and get terrible speeds for this reason alone.

Unless all the residents can push BTO to upgrade all the telephone cabling in the block, I'm sorry but only if & when Fibre is installed are your connection speeds likely to increase. This is assuming that it will be suitable for the existing wiring.
