      Do you think a filtered face plate would help at all? I havent really bothered as my line is so short and didnt think it would help much.
      It is not the length of your line that matters with a filtered faceplate, but your internal wiring. If you have phone extensions, then a filtered faceplate will help. If you have only one phone socket it will make little or no difference.
