      No DSL or Phone

      My line went down the other day and i am on next door but ones 1Mbit connection (yes they know about it) and its really hit and miss. No one is rushing to fix my line and the move to BT Infinity looks even more appealing than ever.

      The most annoying thing is because there is no 01 number to sky it cost me a small fortune to ring them on my mobile, whats the point in offering free customer service to Sky Talk customers when you cant you your land line to ring them.

      Whilst I can't offer to fix the line, it may help you to know that you can ask Sky to call you back on a mobile if this is how you are calling them.

      I would also point out that it may be suitable to email them and ask them to call you as well.

      When emailing, point out that you have intermittent access to the Internet so it would not be a good idea to respond via email. Also ask about their compensation since you have not had a functioning telephone line & broadband connection for several days.

      i did get them call me back mate but that was only after i got though all the automated stuff and convinced the chap i really needed help

      He just said the line is dead at the exchange end and he would get BTO on to it.

      It's a fault on the Openreach network in that case, so they'll fix it within 48 hours of it being logged.
