      Slow broadand download speeds.

Hi, I have noticed over thae last few days that my download speeds are very slow, I am connected onto a XTE-2005 Filtered Master Faceplate and my stats are:-

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 4092 kbps 796 kbps
Line Attenuation 57.0 db 35.8 db
Noise Margin 6.6 db 7.9 db

      I am on sky unlimited.

Has anyone got any ideas why it has slowed up

      Re: Slow broadband download speeds.

Looking at your current stats, your connection speed appears to be fine.

Your line Attenuation is quite high. This indicates that you are some distance from the telephone exchange.

Your noise margin is low, but within Sky's tolerance.

You've stated that your connection speed has dropped.

      Firstly what what it previously?

Secondly, has there been any disruption to the telephone lines in your local area recently or have you noticed a few extra BT Openreach vans?

(i.e. copper theft, lines down (check the broadband status section of this forum), Fibre being installed, upgrade in your telephone exchange)

Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps
Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms
