Incredibly slow Internet, 0.4 MB and 45 KB/S - Someone help!

This is internet so poor, and I'm immensely stressed over it.

      Broadband package: Sky Broadband Unlimited
      Normal Speed: 0.4 MB
Throttled at: 45 KB per second (25 - 35 if someone's streaming videos or playing on the Internet)
Average usage per day: Hours, many hours
What does this throttling affect? Browsing, Streaming Videos, Gaming, Connecting to Networks

And the advertised speed is... 8MB.

You're not being throttled. Your line is capped, likely because of instability at higher rates.

Any noise or issues on your landline?
How many telephone sockets do you use?
Is there a microfilter connected directly into each telephone socket in use, ensuring that nothing is before the filter?
Is the router connected to the master socket or an extension socket?
Are you using the short grey dsl cable that Sky provided, or running an extension telephone cable to the router?
Do you have Sky tv connected to any telephone sockets?
Do you have a test socket?

Thank you for that, but you may wish to edit out your IP & MAC address from that pic. Also the router's name (SKY????) could be trimmed out.

      Connection Speed: 387kbps 416kbps
      Line Attenuation: 65.0dB 42.7dB
      Noise Margin: 4.4dB 10.5dB
Your Line Attenuation is very high. Other than indicating that you are some distance from your local telephone exchange, this could also indicate that you perhaps have something else connected to the telephone line without it going though a microfilter.

Could you plug just the router into the test socket please, using just a microfilter, the short grey ADSL lead supplied by Sky and the router?

Take a copy of the router stats again and post them please.

Common problems in this situation have been traced to a telephone socket that wasn't filtered; the Sky STB telephone lead being plugged in first with the splitter supplied by the Sky Engineer (wording say that it must never be removed, please DO remove it for now).

Done. Also, there was no splitter there anyway.
      Here are the stats now:

Phooey, there isn't a huge improvement with that 2nd set of stats.

Powering off the router for a few moments might resolve this.

What we primarily need to see at this stage is a reduction in the Line Attenuation and an increase in the Noise Margins.

It might be useful to know how far you are from your local telephone exchange. Try this little tool on the SamKnows website: SamKnows - Broadband Availability Checker

If you punch in your telephone number, it'll work out what is available in your local area. However if you could put in your Post Code, it'll give you an indication of the distance as per the flight of a crow to your telephone exchange.

Thanks! I'll try both things now.

      The new stats:

Also, I checked the distance from the exchange. 2.59 km from exchange... Is that bad? Sounds grim.
