Another day, no change. Time to phone up again.

A polite call is definitely in order now. It does appear that a few people have not had DLM kick in correctly.

Remember that it is an automated system, so normally no human interaction is required.

As with anything to do with broadband, you may need to call a few times before you can get someone who knows what is required to be done, so please be patient.

Remember that if you have Sky Talk the calls to Sky are now free 24/7.

Re: Newly activated and logging speeds

Hurrah! I phoned up and got someone infinitely more useful than the other night. She agreed that DLM should have started Monday but hadn't, so she set my limit to 18mbps and manually requested DLM in the next 24 hours.

      Code:
Date Speed Attenuation Noise margin WAN up time
      12/08/2011 16528 / 954 kbps 21.0 / 12.6 dB 7.1 / 7.1 dB 00:29:59

Not sure why but speedtest insists on thinking I'm ins Scotland, even when geo-located.

Re: Newly activated and logging speeds

Looks like there is a problem with DLM starting. There are several here reporting this and I have no doubt there are many more who are not on the forum.

Re: Newly activated and logging speeds

A bit worrying, really, as those who don't watch their speeds all that closely may not even notice they're only at 4mbps, if they're only doing regular browsing and games.

      Today's stats:
      Code:
Date Speed Attenuation Noise margin WAN up time
      13/08/2011 16528 / 954 kbps 21.0 / 12.6 dB 7.3 / 7.3 dB 23:20:56

Re: Newly activated and logging speeds

Your line has been manually profiled, DLM will not kick in unless you have a fault on your line, in which case it will just reduce the speed until the line is stable. You will not see an increase.

Re: Newly activated and logging speeds

I'm not expecting any more out of it, it's performing as it did with O2, they just didn't have any of this DLM at the start.

Very slight change in speed, today, and a change in the noise margin.
      Code:
Date Speed Attenuation Noise margin WAN up time
      14/08/2011 16199 / 945 kbps 21.0 / 12.6 dB 6.8 / 8.3 dB 19:50:08

Re: Newly activated and logging speeds

I think that concludes my DLM. Hopefully plain sailing from now on and maybe consider a non-Sky router, with gigabit and wireless N.

      Code:
Date Speed Attenuation Noise margin WAN up time
      18/08/2011 16480 / 954 kbps 21.0 / 12.6 dB 6.9 / 7.1 dB 42:08:11
