Thumbs down insane ping the past few days (1k+ avg)

hello, the past couple of days I've had an issue with my connection. it has been really slow connecting to webpages and online games, wireless and wired. I've tried all I can think of doing from only having the router connected directly to the master socket to simply leaving the router unplugged for an hour so it connects to a different "branch"

my ping is usually 20-100ms to bbc.co.uk, it's currently nearing 1k
router stats and bbc.co.uk ping are as follows

I've called sky, can't get anything useful from them. my phone has also been down or very "laggy" the past few days too.

I'm getting 5k ms ping on WoW (USA servers) when it's usually 100-200ms

can anyone help? anything I can say to sky to do to see if it helps?
or shall I order a sky engineer to come out?

      thanks!

What exactly do you mean by this? If you mean intermittently losing a dial tone or getting noise, then you want to be troubleshooting this first and foremost.

well when I pick up my phone it takes 5-10 seconds before I hear a dial tone and when a number is called another 5-10 seconds before I hear the ringing.

I've tried plugging the phone directly into the master socket, trying a different phone ect but it's still the same results

Yup but I would still recommend you to ring Sky. They are not taking your town seriously.

Re: insane ping the past few days (1k+ avg)

called them early this morning and all they done was check my down/up speed, which obviously isn't the issue. I tried to explain that the latancy/ping is the issue and I don't think they understood me

what shall I tell them exactly? I seem to get nowhere with them, they always promise to call back as I have to use my mobile but they never do

It appears to be a fault, not at the local exchange, but at the Sky server farm for the North of England*. I think only those with Sky phone rental will be suffering.

      * According to Who is, it is located in the middle of the moors, East of Harrogate
