Sending and receiving emails from my thunderbird account

      Hi Can someone please help!!!

I have my own email through thunderbird for the last 4 years, I have just changed to sky and I am having lots of problems

      1. I can't send or receive any emails on my thunderbird account now I am on sky WHY?
2, I can't even get into my email account to check my emails, every time I do it comes up with this
Sending of password did not succeed. Mail server mail.dpiinteriors.co.uk responded: Authentication failed.
It will then ask me for my password which I will type in and it will say the same thing!!!

I have changed some details in my out going server which sky user gave me but that had doing nothing.

I have never had any problems with thunderbird before, I have to keep the same address because its my business one.

If I don;t solve this then I willl have to leave sky and I cant do that because its a 12 month contract!!

      Can Anyone help

      cheers Dan

When changing to SKY you should not have needed to change anything on you POP settings to continue receiving your email. If you password is being rejected you will need to contact the administrator of "mail.dpiinteriors.co.uk" to get the correct settings.

As regards sending it will depend on what SMTP server you were previously using . If your mail account includes an SMTP server there should also be no change.

If you were previously using your ISPs SMTP server then you will ned a new one as using Skys will result in your sky email address being appended to all your business emails.

Request to use this forum's SMTP - works very well.

Does your domain email account have webmail? Most do, you could use that to get your mail moving again.

My domain mail is with 1and1, it all swapped over seamlessly when I moved to Sky a couple of weeks ago. Even my old "ISP" mail account is still coming through OK, I didn't need to change anything.
